The Homoeopathic Medicine Pat prescribes the homoeopathic medicine in either drop form or in little pilule form depending on what the client prefers or whether it is being taken by a baby or an animal (drops) or any adult human (as per their preference). The Practitioner Pat graduated from Naturecare College in Sydney in 1986 and has had 23 years clincal experience as a medical homoeopath. She prefers to have a full consultation in order to take a client's case. If she considers that homoeopathic medicine is the best option for her client she prescribes the most well indicated homoeopathic for her client. Almost always only one homoeopathic will be given at any one time, rather than mixtures. In this she follows the Homoeopathic laws and principles. The Laws of Homoeopathy
These laws of prescribing mean that Homoeopathic medicine is very different from chemical medicine (herbal and pharmaceutical) in the same way that acupuncture doesn't use chemistry to bring about healing. 200 Years of Testing of Homoeopathy Since Samuel Hahnemann (re)discovered Homoeopathy in 1790, he and latter homoeopaths have continually tested the laws, principles and theories of homoeopathics and of each homoeopathic medicine prescribed. Firstly there is a system of proving a homoeopathic. This is done by giving an unknown remedy to a group of healthy volunteers who record any symptoms which occur when taking and for some time after taking the remedy. These records are then examined and symptoms which are experienced by a number of the trial participants are considered to belong to the remedy; most particuarly ones which are unusual symptoms. Those experienced by only one trial person are usually discarded or given much less credence. Provings continue to be carried out on old tried and true remedies as well as any new remedies. Secondly are the records of homoeopaths which are published when a homoeopathic has cured a patient. Cure is considered to have occurred once a long period of time has passed with no reoccurrence of the illness or symptoms at all. Usually this is accompanied by several other symptoms disappearing also that were of less concern to the patient when (s)he first presented at the clinic. When these are published for other homoeopaths to read, they add to the body of knowledge already known about a particular homoeopathic. These homoeopathic symptom pictures can be found also in the various Materia Medica books. Each remedy has had its symptom picture confirmed and reconfirmed many times showing a great consistency throughout the literature. |
